BENEFITS

Benefits Do Not Apply To Every Assignment
Benefits do not apply to every assignment and at J. Kent’s sole discretion, are subject to change at any time without prior notice. The described benefits do not constitute a contact or obligation on the part of J. Kent Staffing, Inc. and do not hold any guarantees.
 
Employee Responsibility
A J. Kent Employee is responsible for tracking their benefit eligibility and notifying their Staffing Manager in writing.
A J. Kent Employee is responsible for keeping a copy of each client-signed Timesheet to track their own hours for eligibility.
 

MEDICAL

Available at employee cost through our affiliation with American Staffing Association (ASA), and all benefit administration is through the ASA's contracted vendor. Please call the ASA at (703) 253-2020 for information.
 

PAID HOLIDAYS

Paid holidays are designed to reward temporary staff members who make an extended work commitment to J. Kent Staffing, Inc.  An extended work committment is defined as 1700 Hours Worked within a 52 Week Period prior to the holiday.  The six (6) paid holidays include:
 
  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
Rules & Conditions
  1. Provided the J. Kent Employee is on an active assignment and worked a minimum of 28 hours during the holiday week.
  2. Paid at regular time at the current assignment hourly pay rate.
  3. Timesheet – if eligible, on the holiday day mark “PAID HOLIDAY” on your Timesheet - DO NOT RECORD ANY HOURS.
  4. Requests not submitted on the Timesheet in the holiday week are forfeited.
  5. Holiday pay will be paid for the hours scheduled on that holiday not to exceed 8 hours of holiday pay.  For example: on a current assignment, if you are scheduled to work a 7 hour day, you will be paid for 7 hours of holiday pay.
  6. If the holiday falls on a scheduled work day AND YOU WORK ON THAT HOLIDAY, you will be paid time and one half for the hours worked; no additional holiday pay will apply.
  7. Payrolling assignments are not eligible for paid holidays.
  8. Specific client assignments (contracts) may not be eligible for paid holidays.
 

TENURE BONUS

J. Kent’s Tenure Bonus is designed to reward temporary staff members who make an extended work commitment to J. Kent Staffing, Inc.  1700 hours worked = 40 hours bonus pay
 
Rules & Conditions
Based on calendar year January 1 – December 31.
Hours are reset to -0- beginning January 1 of each calendar year
Paid at your average, regular Pay Rate over the 1700 hours
You must submit bonus request in writing to your J. Kent Staffing Manager no later than December 31 of each calendar year. Bonus requests received after December 31 are forfeited.
All bonus requests are subject to accounting audit.
Bonus will be paid no later than 2 payroll periods after request in writing is received and approved.
Payrolling assignments are not eligible for Tenure Bonus.
Specific client assignments (contracts) may not be eligible for Tenure Bonus.
 

NEW EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS

Outstanding J. Kent Employees will often refer other great, new employees. Based on the quality of your referrals, you can earn multiple new employees referral bonuses.  80 hours worked/Referral = $50 bonus
 
Rules & Conditions
  1. You can earn a $50.00 bonus if your referral has not been registered with or employed by J. Kent prior to the referral.
  2. You must have worked for J. Kent in the same calendar year as the bonus is being requested
  3. The individual you refer must fill in your name on the J. Kent Employment Application in response to the question “How did you hear of us?
  4. Each referred employee must have completed 80 hours on J. Kent’s payroll.
  5. There is no limit to the number of New Employee Referral Bonuses.
  6. You must submit bonus request in writing to your J. Kent Staffing Manager.
  7. All bonus requests are subject to accounting audit.
  8. Requests not submitted in writing within 30 days of eligibility (80 hours worked by your referral) are forfeited.
  9. Bonus will be paid 2 payroll periods after request in writing is received and approved.

 

WORKERS’ COMPENSATION INSURANCE

Workers' compensation insurance is paid for you while you are on Assignment through J. Kent Staffing.
 

PAYROLL TAXES

J. Kent pays for your Federal and State unemployment taxes and the Employer’s contribution to your Social Security and Medicare
 

DIRECT DEPOSIT

As an added convenience to our employees, J. Kent offers direct deposit of your paycheck into your designated checking or savings account. You must fill out the authorized direct deposit form.
 

JURY DUTY

If you receive a Jury Duty Summons while on an Assignment:

  • You are required to immediately provide a copy to your J. Kent Supervisor.
  • If you are selected to serve on jury duty while on an Assignment, J. Kent will pay you your Pay Rate, up to $50 each day, for the first three days of your jury service.
  • In order to be paid for the first three days of jury duty by J. Kent, you must submit a copy of your Juror's Service Certificate along with the corresponding timesheet to your J. Kent Staffing Manager.
  • Thereafter, the state will compensate you in accordance with state law.
  • On any day of Jury Duty, when you are excused entirely or are on-call to the courthouse or are excused in sufficient time to permit you to return to your Assignment for two hours or more prior to the end of your Work Hours on that Assignment, you will be required to report to your Assignment.

COMPUTER & SOFTWARE SKILLS TRAINING

With the approval of your J. Kent Staffing Manager, computer and software training is available to you at our 500 Downing Street headquarters on the latest version of software applications found in today's ever-changing business environments. Staffing Manager Approval Required
 

CENTRALLY LOCATED

J. Kent's headquarters is centrally located at 500 Downing Street. Whether interviewing, using the skills training center, or dropping off a timesheet, parking is free and readily available in front or on the south side of our building.
