Hourly bill rates apply based on the skill level, requirements requested and worker’s compensation risk level for the assignment.

What if I am not satisfied with a Temporary Professional from J. Kent Staffing?

We offer a 4 hour service guarantee on Temporary and Temp-to-Hire professionals. If you are not satisfied, simply contact your Staffing Manager within the first four (4) hours of the assignment, and we'll send you a replacement. You will not be billed for our employee’s time if it does not meet your performance expectations; however, we are required to pay for the time worked according to “Wage and Hour” of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

What does the Hourly Bill Rate include?

  • Our Employee’s pay rate
  • Employer’s share of FICA (Social Security & Medicare)
  • Federal & state unemployment taxes
  • Workers’ Compensation
  • City Occupational Privilege Taxes, if applicable
  • Operational costs for administration, payroll processing and profit margin

Who is the Employer?

All employees assigned to work at your company (Temporary, Temp-to-Hire, Payroll Services Employees) are J. Kent Staffing, W-2 employees. J. Kent Staffing is the employer and manages all employer responsibilities (hiring, terminations, performance reviews, unemployment hearings, workers compensation administration etc.), assigns the employee's work schedule, and is responsible for personnel managment of the employee/employer relationship.

How long will it take to fill a Temporary Staffing request once the order is placed?

The time frame to get to a qualified hire (filling your position) depends on the talent that you are requiring. Unique or tightly defined skills sets will require more notice than skills sets that are readily available. J. Kent provides updates at regular intervals and strives to hire only the most qualified.

How long will it take to fill a Temp-to-Hire staffing request once the order is placed?

The time frame for successfully finding an employee for you is going to vary based on our current candidate base and your specific needs. We are committed to sending the most qualified applicants. You may decide to look at the most qualified applicants and do an interview, or we can fill a position based on the qualifications you provide.

What type of information will I need to give the Staffing Manager when requesting a J. Kent Temp?

  • Tell us "what creates the need" for the request.  This will quickly identify the urgency of the position.
  • A job title if possible, and specific description of the job responsibilities and the skills you are seeking.
  • Estimate of the total length of time the employee will be needed so that we can select an employee who will be available for the duration of the project.
  • The required work schedule; days, work hours and length of the lunch hour specific to the assignment, and let the Staffing Manager know if overtime will be required on the assignment and your company’s policy in this regard.
  • Your company’s “report to” manager and/or the name of the person supervising the J. Kent Employee, and who is authorized to sign their Timesheet.
  • Inform the Staffing Manager of any requirements that are unique to your organization, including policies regarding dress code, parking, etc.
