Claims Manager / Supervisor

Claims Managers/Supervisors oversee the claims department of an insurance company.  They supervise and coordinate claim examiners, adjusters, and investigators.  They also analyze and approve insurance claims, consulting with legal representatives when necessary and advising superiors of claim status.  They submit statement of claim liabilities to the actuarial department for review.  Claims Managers/Supervisors also conduct personal interviews with policy owners and beneficiaries to explain the procedure for filing claims.
 
Claims Managers/Supervisors generally have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Economics, or Finance and must meet all necessary licensing requirements.  They must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
