Director of Philanthropy

Position Overview
The Director of Philanthropy at a Single Family Office directly reports to the Major Principal(s).  The Director of Philanthropy identifies and verifies opportunities for philanthropic causes that align with the mission and vision of the SFO. 
 
Requirements
 
Education/Certifications/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of applicable experience is required
  • Fundraising experience is preferred, with both traditional and online expertise
  • Executive management experience at a foundation or other charitable experience is recommended
 Computer Skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong public relations skills
  • Advanced written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including political acumen to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the SFO and with outside contacts
  • Meticulous attention to detail
 
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Understands how philanthropic endeavors fit within the family mission statement and business plan
  • Focuses active family members and engages younger generations in their passions
  • Sources and vets philanthropic opportunities aligned with the family mission statement and business plan
  • Assists in managing the donation process and distributions to charity (no matter the vehicle), as well as following through to gauge and measure the results
 
Compensation – Corporate Type Benefit Package, Perks
The salary for this position can range from $100,000 - $200,000.
