Job Overview

Docket/Calendar Clerks perform clerical duties in courts of law, municipalities, and governmental licensing agencies and bureaus. They prepare a docket of cases to be called, secure information for judges and the court, and prepare draft agendas or bylaws for the town or city council. Docket/Calendar Clerks answer official correspondence, keep fiscal records and accounts, issue licenses or permits, record data, administer tests, and collect fees. They are also responsible for answering inquiries from the general public regarding judicial procedures, court appearances, trial dates, adjournments, outstanding warrants, summonses, subpoenas, witness fees, or payment of fines.
