Mortgage Underwriter
Mortgage Underwriters review all documentation required in the home loan or building loan process to verify the economic standing of the loan applicant. Mortgage Underwriters analyze details such as income, employment, and credit history, and also examine applicant accounts. They review property specifications and the terms of the loan to determine whether those meet institutional or governmental requirements. They then approve or deny the applicant’s loan application.
Mortgage Underwriters are generally required to have a Bachelor's degree in finance, business or a related field, though some combination of education and related experience may be substituted in some cases.
