Plant Managers direct and coordinate the operation and maintenance of a manufacturing plant within company policies and procedures. They are responsible for the effectiveness of the functions of the facility, including the plant production goals. Plant Managers oversee the cleanliness and safety of the plant, and help to train, supervise, and motivate the staff that works there. They often liaise with senior management regarding production goals and objectives, and meet with department heads to coordinate purchasing, production, and shipping. Plant Managers also oversee quality control, and ensure that plant operations fall within the established budget.
