Tax Director - Public Accounting
Tax Directors are primarily responsible for ensuring the company’s tax compliance, tax planning, and accounting for income taxes. They complete federal, international, and state income tax returns, handling all related analysis and support. Tax Directors ensure that all documents submitted are accurate, complete, and timely. They plan, design, and maintain policies, systems, and procedures to assure compliance with federal and state tax laws and regulations. They also supervise staff in the finance department, and routinely liaise with operating management and accounting staff regarding tax issues.
Tax Directors are required to have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, though a Master’s degree is preferred. A JD or CPA certification is strongly recommended. Tax Directors typically have over 10 years of experience in the field.
