Position Overview

Information Technology Specialist position involves desktop support, network administration, and technology assessments. Will work on a team responsible for:

1)    Internal IT support (windows environment) for corporate office of 60 employees, and

2)    Traveling to new education start-up programs throughout the U.S. to assess and set up IT, wireless and telecommunications needs for the new office locations.

This position could start as a temp-to-hire (with a targeted hire date of 6/1/2015), or possibly as a direct hire opportunity.


Education, Certifications & Experience

  • College degree in Computer Science – Bachelor degree preferred; minimum of an Associate degree required
  • IT Certifications preferred – A+, MCP, and/or MCSA
  • 2-5 years of desktop support experience in a windows environment


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for frequent interaction with educators and other nonprofit administrators who are not necessarily computer or technologically savvy
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) speaking abilities a strong plus

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide full desktop and user support to a Windows IT environment with:

    • 6 servers, 8 virtual servers, 50 workstations and 50 laptops
    • Exchange 2013 server
    • MS Office 2013 
  • Installing new hardware/software, troubleshooting user problems, training users on hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Maintaining telephone systems, and company-wide intranet
  • After full-time hire, will be assigned to start-up teams that will assess IT needs, design the network architecture and install, configure and support remote office locations
