Alternate Titles: AP Manager
Accounts Payable Managers are usually found in larger companies and generally report to the Accounting Manager. They must be able to perform all the Accounts Payable Specialist duties and responsibilities. Depending upon the size of the company, they may spend the majority of their time managing, supervising, directing work flow and working in the general ledger.
Education, Experience, & Certifications
- Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance
- 5+ years of full-cycle accounts payable processing experience
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems knowledge may be required
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
- Excellent data entry skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills
Typical Duties May Include:
- Supervising accounts payable department (usually 2 or more AP Specialists)
- Reconciling to the general ledger
- Preparing accruals
- General ledger posting and monthly and/or year-end reconciliations
- Maintaining cash requirements
- Maintaining AP aging analysis
