Scheduler

Job Overview

Schedulers greet patients, register them, collect co-pays or other fees, and verify insurance or personal information. They also help schedule meetings, appointments, assemble and organize charts, and maintain doctors’ schedules. Schedulers must make sure all consent forms are signed, all required tests prior to surgery are completed, and that the patient’s questions are completely answered. They may also maintain medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes, and administer medications as directed.
