J. Kent Staffing’s “Temp-to-Hire By Design” program is a great way for companies to ensure they have the right person before making a final hiring decision.
One of our clients is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to teach children financial literacy through real-life experiences and hands-on programs. With the move to online learning during the pandemic, they no longer were able to conduct their in-person programs for the K-8 population which led to the layoff of all their Program Assistants.
Fortunately, their in-person programs have returned and they have made the business decision to rely on J. Kent Staffing to recruit, interview, vet, and hire a new group of Program Assistants. Our client’s strategy has been to test the fit over a 480-hour (12-week) period before extending a job offer. In the past year, they have hired 9 employees using this temp-to-hire solution and have J. Kent Staffing enlisted to find 2 more people who are passionate about developing the minds of our youth!
Sierra is from Portland, Oregon, and graduated from Portland State University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies and Spanish. She moved to Denver 6 months after graduating and worked for almost a year in the office services department for a law firm. She was happy to be employed during the pandemic, however found she was unfulfilled in that role, so she made the decision to start looking for other employment.
J. Kent Staffing’s opening for an Educational Program Assistant caught her eye. She was immediately drawn to the opportunity to work with older youth in a teaching environment without following the path of becoming a traditional classroom teacher. Outside of work, Sierra loves photography, traveling, and spending time enjoying the beautiful outdoors!
Sierra started her temp-to-hire assignment in early April and was hired by our client at the end of June 2022.
