J. Kent’s client, an international entrepreneur, was looking for a leader, superb manager and visionary to take the top financial position of a new and exciting start-up based in Denver, Colorado. They were looking for one in a million Chief Financial Officer, and that’s what they got; along with his Princeton Varsity Football team experience.
A complex search such as this required extensive J. Kent resources and time dedicated to interviewing the Principal and executive team. Subsequently a comprehensive job description was developed as the search map; a wide-spread search plan as designed and executed. The search from start to finish took 3 months for this mission critical position.
Michael had the kind of depth they were looking for in a seasoned financial professional. Someone to invigorate and strengthen the organization’s human capital; someone to help them gain competitive economic advantage and ensure growth and new opportunities.
However, it was balance that the organization was seeking. Someone to provide strong, strategic financial leadership, and at the same time have the ability to engage, mentor and coach executive leadership and staff.
Michael brought to the job what the client was seeking: extensive experience providing insightful financial and operations recommendations to decision makers, a quick study with a track record of success in quantitative analysis, problem solving and project management; the ability to multi-task at a very high level proven by bringing three simultaneous, global projects to successful completions, a consummate professional with a high degree of integrity and diligence of purpose; the ability to maintain at all times a high level of discretion in handling confidential information; and yes, a caring and friendly personality, with the ability to build relationships with all colleagues, regardless of background.
Today Michael is well entrenched in his position providing the Principals with the kind of professional financial management experience they need to move the company to the next level and beyond. To win the war for talent in the 21st century you find and hire only the best. This was certainly the case with Michael.
