After graduating from the University of Denver with a BA in English and an MA in Education, Nat enthusiastically began her teaching career at a Title 1 middle school in Denver.
A natural perfectionist, teaching eighth-grade reading and writing to low-income students was more emotionally and mentally challenging than she had anticipated. The job also offered very little work-life balance. After teaching for four years, Nat made the difficult decision to resign and pursue a different career. But what?
Not knowing what she wanted to do next, Nat found J. Kent Staffing through a Google search. During her in-person interview, her J. Kent Recruiter suggested that Nat try temporary work to expose her to different types of companies and jobs. Nat had worked a part-time, front office admin job at DU while attending college. This coupled with typing 73 wpm and above-average MS Office skills made her a great candidate for J. Kent Staffing’s various temporary positions.
The day after her interview at J. Kent Staffing, Nat worked a 2-day event as a Booth Assistant. Shortly after that, her Recruiter offered her a temporary Receptionist role at a luxury car dealership. The role was originally intended to last one month. However, our client found that they just couldn’t part ways with Nat’s excellent customer service skills and shining personality! They kept extending her assignment until they eventually decided to hire her on as their full-time employee. Nat started her new job on Feb. 10, 2020.
