The assistant controller is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Staff, ensuring that a highly productive and well-trained staff is always maintained. The Assistant Controller ensures the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of the financial reporting and Accounting functions while providing information and assistance to the Controller. This individual will be responsible for internal financial reporting, assist SEC reporting, variance analysis, ensuring GAAP compliance and will report to the Corporate Controller. Many times this will be the initial career path for Audit Seniors, Audit Managers leaving public accounting firms. Assistant Controllers are generally lead supervisors.
