One surefire way to enjoy summer is to round up some family and friends and head off to the county fairgrounds for some good old-fashioned fun! Thousands of Arapahoe County residents and other Coloradoans did just that at the end of July and attended the Arapahoe County Fair. From carnival rides to a petting farm to fireworks – there was something for everyone to enjoy!
J. Kent Staffing got to join in the fun by hiring 12 cashiers and 1 supervisor to work the ticket booth over 4 days. One thing’s for sure – we couldn’t have pulled it off without the hard work and dedication of our temporary J. Kent Supervisor who rounded up and oversaw our team of ticket cashiers every day.
This was not Alexis’ first rodeo in the world of events!
Alexis grew up mostly in Colorado and after graduating from Boston University with a Master’s degree in Television, she left for California to live out her childhood dream of working at E!. For three years, she helped produce various red-carpet events and live TV shows in Los Angeles. She thrived on the process of preparing for an event or show and seeing everything come together.
Alexis is now pursuing a new career where she can put her writing, editing, and other creative talents to work. She is back in Colorado and since connecting with J. Kent Staffing earlier this year, Alexis has worked 11 different temporary jobs – from office work (data entry, office services, reception) to events where she has successfully executed the roles of event staff, lead, and supervisor.
As a supervisor at the Fair’s ticket booth, Alexis was charged with checking in-and-out J. Kent Staffing’s 12 other cashiers, assisting with training, providing rest and meal breaks, and ensuring that customer service levels were not only being met but exceeded.
Alexis satisfies her creativity by experimenting with painting, and she loves to travel. Her adventures have taken her mostly to Europe, but she has aspirations of exploring many other places including Antarctica which is currently top on her bucket list. In the meantime, we’re happy to keep Alexis as busy as she wants with a variety of other short-term temporary roles.
