Lexi grew up in Castle Rock where she started honing her leadership skills as a youth and young adult. She was active in student government in high school and her softball talent led her to Fort Hays State University in Kansas on an athletic scholarship. In May 2021, Lexi received her BS in Political Science, with Certificates in Pre-Law and Leadership. Her initial plan was to move to San Diego to live with her sister, who had just made Lexi a proud Aunt, but those plans changed and Lexi decided to stay – at least for the time being – in Colorado.
Lexi’s timing connecting with J. Kent Staffing couldn’t have been more opportune. Although she had originally applied for a different position, Lexi’s Recruiter presented her with another role that was a much better fit for her background, skills, interests, and personal goals.
J. Kent Staffing had just begun a search for a 6-month Administrative Assistant for a nonprofit organization that delivers challenging outdoor adventure programs for Coloradoans of all ages and abilities. This position would allow Lexi the opportunity to work a hybrid, mostly remote role which was an important criterion for Lexi in her job search.
Lexi’s athletic background, love of the outdoors, and strong work ethic – combined with her education, computer skills, and past volunteering with numerous nonprofits – helped secure her the position. She started her new job in mid-September, supporting daily office operations and providing administrative assistance to the Executive Director, Senior Leadership, and Development teams.
