Shauna is a proud native of Denver, Colorado! After receiving her diploma from Thomas Jefferson High School, she continued her education at Savannah State University, graduating in 2015 with a BA in Mass Communications.

During and after college, she worked at a local television news station in Savannah, but realized through this experience that the broadcasting industry was not a good fit for her. Like many others who move away, she decided to return to back home to Colorado in 2016.

Upon her return, Shauna started working as a Server and was soon promoted to a corporate position with the parent company of several restaurant chains. In her role as Office Manager, she was responsible for various HR, accounting, and administrative support functions for hundreds of employees. When the parent company sold one of the restaurant chains, she was laid off.

Shauna connected up with J. Kent Staffing through a job posting on Indeed that was surprisingly similar to the position she had just left, but with a very appealing nonprofit organization that connects foster kids with adoptive families. She was the first and last candidate our client met with, as they knew right away that Shauna was just the right person to add to their growing Denver team.
