Our client, a nationally recognized and respected philanthropist, was placed in the challenging position of hiring a new Personal Assistant – a position previously occupied by a talented individual for 18 years. The Executive and Personal Assistant alike recognized that in working together for such a long time they had developed a respectful and productive relationship; one that both knew would be difficult to replace quickly.
Although our client had many years of previous search experiences with J. Kent Staffing, understandably, the client was a bit apprehensive. J. Kent recognized that this would be a unique search for any Denver employment agency, Colorado recruiter or Denver temp agency. As a Colorado staffing agency, J. Kent has placed many Personal Assistants at this level. However, that said, we understand that with almost two decades of service, the successful performance of any Personal Assistant is enhanced as they gain more and more knowledge of their employer’s organization, household or family. Furthermore, with any 18 year business tenure, the ability to recognize internal and external key personnel, and understand their employer’s aims, objectives, mission and values are integral in the successful relationship. As always, we came to the same conclusion: the talent pool available for Personal Assistants at this level of experience with the required understanding of business and personal social protocol would be small.
From start to finish, the search took 12 weeks. During that time, J. Kent’s Denver recruiters reviewed more than 200 resumes, pre-screened 120 applicants and conducted 30 in-depth, in-person interviews according to The J. Kent Process. Through this process driven hiring strategy, six final candidates were presented to the client in a one day, focused interviewing session. Comprehensive candidate documentation was made available for the client’s review. As a result, the client was quickly able to identify Lori as one of three top candidates qualified for the position by using J. Kent’s Recruiting Program.
The final selection was made, and Lori, with 15+ years of Executive Assistant experience, and 7 years of Personal Assistant experience to a high profile philanthropist, received the job offer. Lori’s engaging personality, calm demeanor and sound, common sense business skills were quickly recognized as one of her best assets, as was her ability to work confidently with internal and external key personnel throughout the US and abroad. After extensive testing, background checking (criminal, drug, credit, employment) J. Kent, on behalf of the client, extended the offer to Lori. She was thrilled, felt it was the right match….and she accepted this exceptional job opportunity.
Lori is responsible for heavy scheduling/calendaring, maintaining an extensive database of contacts, and coordinating and executing high-end travel and private jet use. She is also responsible for managing a significant travel budget, event planning, vendor management, oversight and tracking of auction acquisitions, and extensive and diverse project coordination.
Your business acumen, attention to detail, and respectful manner in working with people is valued and appreciated. We wish you the best in your new position.
