J. Kent Staffing’s client, with headquarters in Spain, is an international manufacturer of components used in the telecommunications industry. In recent years, they have started to penetrate the U.S. and North American markets and have a small, yet rapidly growing sales office in Denver, Colorado. Originally staffed with only a General Manager and 2 sales executives, they needed to supplement their staff by adding some internal support positions to take care of shipping/receiving, office administration and sales support.
For their Sales Assistant opening, our client was seeking a reliable, hard-working individual with the ability to work well independently. To assist with growth, the new hire would also need the panache and communications skills to be able to outreach to new potential customers in the U.S. market to follow up on sales leads generated from trade shows. Emma fit the bill in all of these respects. She grew up with a love and passion for horses, and received her BS in Agribusiness Management in 2016. Throughout college, Emma worked as a key holder in a retail sales position and following graduation, managed 2 different equestrian centers/stables where she was charged with running the office, booking customer training/rides, and caring for the horses. These positions satisfied her love for “everything equine”, but she realized that she was starting to limit her career possibilities by staying too narrowly focused in this industry.
When Emma and her husband relocated to Denver the summer of 2018 for her husband’s job, it was the perfect time for Emma to explore other careers where she could utilize her excellent people skills, organizational skills, and strong interest in sales and customer service. This was exactly the recipe our client was seeking and, since starting in early September, Emma has been instrumental in helping our client take the U.S. and North American markets to a new level.
