BA in Social Work, University of Vermont. Relocated from CT to CO in 2017 and Landed Dream Job with Non-Profit!
Jackie grew up in Connecticut and graduated in 2011 from University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. Due to the difficult job market, she worked in a restaurant for a few years before finding a job as an administrative assistant in the marketing department of a commercial real estate firm in Connecticut. She absolutely loved this new learning experience and being an integral part of the day-to-day operations of a company. After 2 years, Jackie decided to pursue her long-awaited plan of moving to Colorado, which she did the summer of 2017.
Being new to Denver, Jackie did temporary work for J. Kent Staffing before finding an Executive Assistant job for a restaurant equipment broker. But, with her original pursuit of social work, she still hoped to work in an operations capacity for a charitable non-profit firm whose mission was helping people. J. Kent VP & Recruiting Manager, Kara Cooper, immediately saw the match when our client, a non-profit who helps foster children find adoptive homes, was seeking an individual with a hands-on and diverse skill set to help support their company’s growth.
Jackie’s enthusiasm, energy, and positive attitude (not to mention excellent administrative and technical skills) immediately made her the leading candidate for our client. Jackie started in her new job on June 7, 2018, and couldn’t be happier.
