Nicole graduated from Boston University in 2020 with a BS in Mass Communication and a Specialization in Public Relations. After college, she worked for her family’s restaurant group in Connecticut in addition to working pro bono doing marketing and administration for a nonprofit foundation that focuses on fighting mental health stigma and suicide with music.
After deciding to relocate to Colorado in mid-September, Nicole wisely started her Denver job search in July while still living in Connecticut. After researching Denver recruiting firms on Google, she connected with J. Kent Staffing.
In August, while still in Connecticut, Nicole successfully video-interviewed with one of J. Kent’s nonprofit clients for a 3+ month (potential foot-in-the-door) administrative assistant role and was able to secure a September start date. It was quite a relief for Nicole to know she had reliable income starting immediately after her move, particularly at an organization where she could see herself long-term.
Nicole started her temporary assignment during a very busy time for our nonprofit client who was in the throes of planning and preparing for their annual fundraising gala in November. She jumped right into helping with administrative support, but the organization has since put her degree to good use with the addition of marketing, communications, and public relations tasks.
Nicole has been in Denver and on the job now for 3 months. She recently accepted an extension on her assignment and is looking forward to seeing what is in store for her over the next 3 months.
In Nicole’s free time, she continues to volunteer and enjoys playing guitar, tending to her herb garden, and reading every book Lucy Dacus awards 5 stars to on Goodreads!
