Michael has worked as a long-term J. Kent Staffing contractor since May 2019 and has been one of our most requested and well-liked temporary employees.
Michael grew up in Texas and moved to Colorado in early 2019 for a lifestyle change. He was working remotely for his company based in Texas when he registered on our website seeking supplemental event work. When he resigned from his full-time job, Michael started working temporary positions to try out different industries and explore what was next in his career.
For the past 3 years, Michael has worked a wide variety of temp assignments, including reception, data entry, and general admin. In 2020, he worked as an Election Support Judge, and he even worked for several months prior to the pandemic at our J. Kent Staffing office doing a database clean-up project where we were able to see firsthand his strong skill set and work ethic.
Since November 2021, Michael has been working at the downtown Denver office of a national law firm covering another employee’s leave. The firm’s Practice Manager was impressed with Michael from the start and when a position opened in their Denver office, she jumped at the chance of hiring Michael as a permanent employee. Michael’s reliability and positive, can-do attitude were key factors in him getting the job!
What did Michael like about this opportunity? A short, walking-distance commute to downtown Denver, the opportunity for growth, a condensed workday every Friday, and a great office culture. In his spare time, Michael enjoys traveling with his family (he recently went to Iceland!), and cooking new recipes, specifically Indian and Chinese.
