Relocation to Colorado Leads to Management Opportunity for Warehouse Professional

Mark

Return Materials Manager / Warehouse Associate

J. Kent’s client is a Colorado-based, global provider of video and broadband solutions supporting the cable industry. With the recent resignation of one of their Warehouse Associates, they re-assessed their needs and saw a management gap in their RMA (Return Materials Authorization) program. They decided to reengineer the position, combining RMA management and general warehouse duties.

After an unsuccessful attempt at a temp-to-hire search with another Denver staffing firm, our client enlisted the help of J. Kent Staffing using our Direct Hire Search & Recruiting services.

Mark’s Journey to Colorado:

Mark was born and raised in Montana and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Montana State University. He started working in warehouses during college and, after graduating, put his creative skills to work doing graphic design for a sign company. Mark was laid off with the economic downturn in 2008 and decided to return to the stability of warehouse work.

Fast-forward 12 years, gaining experience with warehousing giants such as Wal-Mart, Lowe’s, and FedEx Freight, Mark and his wife relocated to Colorado in October 2020 due to his wife’s job. While still in Montana, Mark began his Denver job search. He had the opportunity to transfer to Colorado with FedEx Freight, but their Colorado location and position hours did not align well with Mark’s ideal criteria.

Mark did a video interview with our client while still in Montana, and quickly made their shortlist of top candidates. The day after he arrived in Colorado, he interviewed in-person at our client’s facility (just 7 miles from his new home) and shortly thereafter received a job offer. Although Mark had never worked in a management role before, our client saw his leadership capabilities and recognized his potential to be a strong leader of their RMA program and team.

Congratulations, Mark, and Welcome to Colorado!
