For over a decade, J. Kent has provided temporary staff to our Denver-based oil and gas client, an independent exploration and production company with a focus on responsible development of natural resources. The Receptionist position at their downtown Denver headquarters is an extremely important public relations post. It is the first point of contact for all investors, royalty owners, vendors, government officials, and many other business associates. The importance of having a professional, articulate, welcoming, and capable presence in the company’s front office cannot be understated.
Kaitlyn wasn’t expecting to be offered a full-time position when she accepted this long-term temporary Receptionist assignment, but that is what transpired after just 2 ½ months.
Kaitlyn grew up in Connecticut and has many varied talents. She attended school for both music therapy (her musical gifts include voice, flute, and piano) and business administration. She is a certified yoga instructor and also enjoys designing jewelry. Her administrative career-to-date has included working for MIT’s Sloan School of Management in Boston, and then as an administrative and personal assistant for a business owner in Chicago. She capped her Chicago experience working as an Estimating Coordinator for a design/build firm where she got to use her creative talents working with construction drawings. As you can see, Kaitlyn’s talents and interests have no boundaries!
After moving to Denver during the summer of 2019 to join family and friends, Kaitlyn embarked upon her full-time job search. With no car, it was important to her to find a company in downtown Denver, or close-by, where she could continue to thrive professionally, but also navigate her daily responsibilities as a pet owner (Mattie – her rescue dog – is pictured here with Kaitlyn).
The temporary Receptionist assignment offered to Kaitlyn by her J. Kent Recruiter was a great interim job for her while she continued to look for a permanent position. After just weeks on assignment, our client began to engage with J. Kent about offering Kaitlyn a full-time position. As of February 10, 2020, Kaitlyn is proud to be employed by one of Denver’s top oil and gas firms where she continues to make a day-to-day difference and a positive impact.
