Peyton and her husband had recently moved to Denver from Dallas, opting for mountains and colder weather over the heat of Texas. Her husband had fortunately received a job transfer, but now it was time for her to find a job in a new town. Through a Google search, she researched Denver Staffing Agencies and decided to register on J. Kent Staffing’s website. One week later, she received a J. Kent email about upcoming event work for a large cosmetics conference. It sounded like fun and was also a chance for her to earn some extra money, so she quickly replied.
Sometimes in your job search, timing is everything. The day she came in to interview with a J. Kent Recruiter and on-board for the upcoming conference was the same day we had secured a new Temp-to-Hire order for an Administrative Assistant role at a nonprofit focused on disease education and prevention. As chance would have it, this opportunity aligned perfectly with Peyton’s previous nonprofit job in Dallas, working as an Events Director and Office Manager.
Peyton impressed our client in their first telephone interview, then excelled at the in-person interview, and then quickly landed the job! Our client was seeking a seasoned Administrative Assistant with experience working directly with the board of directors and notating their meetings, reviewing nonprofit expense reports, planning and executing events, and submitting funding requests to grant managers. Even though they were looking for all of this, they never knew they’d find it all in one candidate who’d already excelled in a similar role. And – icing on the cake – Peyton can now walk to work (weather permitting, of course)!
Update 8/20/2019: After working less than 2 weeks in the temp-to-hire position, Peyton was extended a full-time job offer by our client; one of the quickest temp-to-hire conversions in J. Kent Staffing’s history!
